Do You Feel It?
Does Chestnut Hill feel loved? It doesn’t.
It feels like a child strapped to the car seat in a Mercedes Benz.
Please, get off your high horses and stop crucifying John Lombardi and this webmag. He is but the cartoonist.
I think there’s a bit of real estate that is being tampered with.
I think there’s a bit of money being gambled with.
I think that a community is being screwed.
If those owners think that they can rip off businesses for space, then let them. Let’s see if the board approves their ideas towards commercialization. More chains, the people who will pay more for more to say less. It won’t happen. Keep those vacancies. Keep those storefronts empty of anything that will create interest in this changing economy. Do it. Coffee won’t buy you respect. Neither will an Ikea decorated patio. You have to understand the market. Douchebags.
They may have resigned but they stood to reveal much more than an inappropriate board.
They got out what they’ve been trying to reveal for years. The unethical business practices that many newcomers (and veterans) to the Hill see but can’t do anything about.
Way to go. Good way to promote growth.

For an administration supposedly interested in the business health of Chestnut Hill, how can you most avid critics of the blog justify the activities of Mr. Jain, documented by Mary Harris in her two superb pieces, and Mr.Snowden, mentioned many times by Mr. Lombardi?
Why can't you answer the points raised in the blog instead of just slinging mud at the messengers?
It's really quite simple: There are too many incompetents, crooks and liars, both AA and SOC, sprinkled throughout the entire CHCA and all it's connected parts.
Hence the mudslinging.
Jain & Lachat are just the latest headliners to represent their factions.
A really healthy point of view. Really, CH is turning out for this election like it hasn't for a long time. Can't you be less cynical?
Cynical? Hell, the whole process reeks of incompetence. When do the grownups show up and show this group how to run things as adults? This is the most sorry-ass excuse for a professional organization I've seen in 40 years of workingf with such groups.
No, people. There are no excuses for poor management, inept follow through and lack of contingency planning. If these people worked for me, I would have fired them long ago.
So don't apologize for them. They mad their bed. Let them sleep in it.

The rant of Mary Harris “documents” nothing and is simply the screed of a failed discount rug purveyor who limited her search for commercial space to the two most expensive blocks in Chestnut Hill. She apparently snubbed space in the South Hill and when her champagne tastes sank her beer-like business she did what many novices do: blame the landlord, blame the lender, blame anyone but themselves.
Little Miss Mary needs to suck it up and grow up.
As to John Lombardi, Chestnut Hill’s cut-rate Robespierre, let him boo-hoo in his corner. Ooooh, big time journalist – how is that Haverford newsletter (oh, excuse me “blog” – how au courant) going John? Give it up, Johnny-boy…you are soooo last season.
Can we move on now?
Such compassion and warmth expressed by one who wants to move on. Like a true Swift Boater, it ignores the message and attacks the person. And never, ever forget to add a swat at JLombardi. Where's that Chestnut Hill trailer park located?
Chestnut Hill Village?

Have another drin-drin, Carol.
