Bursting the Actionista Bubble!

It's important for voters in the CHCA election to know that the Action Alliance is an outgrowth, a creation of the current leadership of the CHCA, the leadership which has financially (dismal returns on all fundraisers) and ethically (continual violations of bylaws, no advertising for available Local and CHCA jobs akin to discrimination and cronyism) run our community association into the ground.

The Action Alliance lists among their candidates current board members who as members of the Bylaws Committee and the Executive Committee were authors, presenters and cheerleaders of the bylaw to control the editor of our newspaper and thus the news they wanted us, the public, to know. They claim now to be for free press. Perhaps these stiflers of free press have had some profound conversion or just found it expedient for purposes of reelection.

This bylaw change practically destroyed an award winning newspaper which is just short of celebrating its 50th anniversary. This bylaw change facilitated abuse of Local employees as well as the creation of the Publisher's committee run amuck for two years with no board approved bylaws to guide their actions. Those vile actions certainly spoke louder than words.

As of today, two days from the scheduled Executive Committee meeting no one is able to say where this "location to be announced" meeting is being held. Perhaps the president of the CHCA plans to ride through Chestnut Hill on a flat bed truck with a bullhorn since there is no Local published to announce this meeting as bylaws dictate. If we, the public, find out the undisclosed location the Committee will probably go into Executive Session, thus forcing us, the public, from access to their agenda.

Budget and Finance is also a secret (executive) session. But then, wouldn't it be humiliating for the public to actually know how financially run down the CHCA is.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me again and again and again, shame on me. Don't be fooled by the promises of an Action Alliance lead by those who actions contradict their words.

Marie Lachat for CHCA president!

For President?!!

The one and same Marie Lachet?
The one who "inadvertently" received and kept quiet about her overpay from CHCA while she was Community Manager?

The same Marie who kept this "clerical payroll" error under wraps from the Budget & Finance Committee?

The same M. Lachet who not only refused to reimburse the CHCA for the extra cash taken but then proceeded to threaten to sue the CHCA for "unlawful termination" when she was told her contract as CM would not be renewed?

The same Mrs. Lachet who then forced the cash-strapped CHCA to settle her threatened suit for an amount equal to their insurance deductible?

The same ML who violated the confidentiality terms of this settlement repeatedly over the last several months and not once offered to do the right thing by returning the $5000 settlement and the approximately $16,000 she absconded with while she was the CHCA financial watchdog Community Manager.

Pleeeeease. Let's not get carried away with these endorsements. The only candidate Marie Lachet should be for is poster child of service to oneself.

As Marie herself is quoted in this blog “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me again and again and again, shame on me.” And to paraphrase the original parasite, “Don't be fooled… by those who actions contradict their words.”

(Thanks, Marie, for the right words.)

It's best to vet thoroughly anyone you plan to recommend or endorse for anything.

If Ms.Lachat "absconded" with $15,000 of CHCA monies why was she not charged with theft? Instead, the CHCA gave her an additional $5000 to setttle an unlawful termination charge?

Very puzzling. Was the CHCA that incompetent? Or is this another example of slander by Actionists (albeit in a soft, anonymous voice).

Marie, This is outrageous. You simply have to rebut these reports.

I've heard you and your lawyer have complained directly to the Board powers but why haven't you responded in this well read forum?

There isn't any truth to this, is there? Why do you even have a lawyer?

Say it ain't so. Please!!!

Fool me once. Shame on me. Damn!

By the way asshole Henry D (for Dumb): Marie "Lachet" doesn't exist. It's Marie Lachat. What else have you got wrong in your stupid ravings?

I'll have you know that I know Henry D. and he is no asshole.

So he didn't spell Marie's name correctly. Is that sufficient for you to close your eyes to the facts. Call Marie, ask her yourself. There are 40 or 50 folks who were officially aprised of her theft and the subsequently bizarre payoff to prevent her litigation.

Ask her yourself. Look a board member in the eye and ask.

We need the money back, Marie. We've had a bad year as you have so often reminded us.

And don't try to threaten me. You know and I know that's it's way past the time for you to do the right thing.

Dear Anonymous,

Why label me an "asshole"? For my spelling error? That's rather harsh.

I am fairly convinced of the overall accuracy of the Lachat reports I have received, from numerous folks on all sides and even no sides.

I have heard from many that the facts as outlined are pretty close to the mark. Some tell me the dollar amounts I note are too low.
But these fine details of spelling and financial quantifying do not appreciably detract from the BIG story nor render it fictional. The story that you and I and everyone should be most concerned about.

If all of CH cannot be informed of these serious organizational transgressions then we are doomed to having them repeatedly visited upon us.

I am assured that this theft of CHCA funds is a matter of Board record as is the outrageous settlement that followed. The whole idea that this affair has been declared confidential and kept hidden from the general membership is a gross example of the short comings of our loosely exercised 'quasi-governmental' model that has been in existence for so long.

So I ask you, am I an "asshole" for bringing this matter to the attention of a greater audience? Or is it that you find having your friends exposed, as well as the CHCA Board, to be distasteful?

Did you go to Lachat for her side of this, asshole? Or were you involved in counterpropaganda at election time, self-righteous wanker? You print your crap when you're "fairly convinced"? That's really reponsible community concern.

Marie can come clean anytime she wants but the check ought to be in the mail by then.

Come on Marie, give it a try in your favorite blog. You get to print your explanation or rebuttal if you be so bold. But, Lombardi gets to hold the check for...let's just round it off to, say, $25,000.

Then John, you can do something to help CH by sending back our money. We'll call it the antilombo gesture.

And you asshole anonymous, have you asked Lachat her side of the missing money? Huh, have you?

Yeah, freakshow, I have. It's a legal matter, now.

Ohh! a legal matter! oh my. sticks and stones and all that. Chestnut Hill wants it's money back.

Is it your belief that Mrs Lachat received everything she was entitled to? And nothing more?

You must have shared in the bounty.

Well, "Henry D", now that you've lost even the modicum of courage that allowed you to hide behind your blog moniker, and post as "anonymous", and now charge me or "us" as having "shared" Mrs. Lachat's fictionalized "bounty", I can only quote Gentleman Jim Corbett on how to deal with blowhards: "There's nothing like a sharp left to the jaw to clear the mind."
